Do not use if you suffer from seizure disorders. You also should not use pregnenolone if you are taking DHEA supplements.

Key Warnings Before Taking This Medicine

Your health care provider needs to know if you have any of these conditions: a history of breast cancer, prostate cancer, seizures, prostate enlargement, heart disease, low “good” cholesterol (HDL), history of seizures; using any other dietary supplement, prescription drug, or over-the-counter drug. Pregnenolone is not recommended for children, pregnant or nursing women, or those with liver or kidney disease.

What Are the Precautions When Taking This Medicine

Possible interactions include benzodiazepines. Give your health care provider a list of all the medicines, herbs, non-prescription drugs, or dietary supplements you use. Also tell them if you smoke, drink alcohol, or use illegal drugs. Some items may interact with your medicine.

What Do I Do If I Miss a Dose

If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose. Take your next regularly scheduled dose. Do not take two doses at the same time.

What Are Some Possible Side Effects of This Medicine

Insomnia, irritation, agitation and changes in mood and personality, acne, hair loss, hair growth on the face (in women), aggressiveness, irritability, and increased levels of estrogen. This list may not describe all possible side effects. Call your doctor for medical advice about side effects. Call your health care provider immediately if you are experiencing rapid or irregular heartbeat, dizziness, blurred vision, or other similar symptoms.

Store this medication at 68°F to 77°F (20°C to 25°C) and away from heat, moisture and light. Keep all medicine out of the reach of children. Throw away any unused medicine after the beyond use date. Do not flush unused medications or pour down a sink or drain.
